We Have Used GratEX® FRP Grating for Forming the Floor of a Barge
Over the years we have had some extraordinary projects, where requirements of gratings come in different shapes and forms. In one of the many firsts, Treadwell was approached to provide FRP materials for constructing a barge. In order to allow safe and anti-slip access system of the barge, we used GratEX® FRP grating.
The primary concerns were to increase corrosion resistivity and structural integrity in the grating system due to the application on salt water. Treadwell helped confidence with the durability and the strength of FRP. GratEX® could also achieve the spans required while maintain loads specified. Given the history of FRP in challenging environments, Treadwell’s FRP grating was more than capable to meet the task of being corrosion resistant.
